Animal Abuse

Just Stop It

This matter is very personal to me and I don't expect everyone to feel the same.  Animal abuse is one of the most heinous acts I can ever imagine.  Just about every time I open up Facebook or even watching the evening news, I see reports of it.  WHY?

I will not bash anyone who is guilty of this.  If Karma is real, then your day is coming.

Just recently, I saw on the news, a dog was locked in a cage and dumped into a swamp.  I am so glad someone cared enough to report it to the local authorities.  I see stories of animals found tied in trash bags and put into the dumpster.  Other stories of unimaginable torture upon an animal by human hands.  To think of the fear, the suffering and the pain these animals had to endure is well beyond me.  I have never understood why.  If you don't want an animal for whatever reason, simply give it up for adoption.  Why submit so much pain on any living being?  If you have ever had a pet that you loved, you know that animals have emotions.  They can feel, they can fear and they can love.  I will admit some animals are harder to love than others, but that is still no excuse.

So many times, I remember an old Indian tale that states, Do not mistreat the animals, learn from them.  One day, they may determine if you go to Heaven or not, based on your treatment of them.

Now, isn't that a thought?

It's sad to say, the animals I know, are better at compassion than most people I know.

Do the right thing.  If you know of abuse, tell someone.  Stop the suffering.  Stop the fear.  Be a good steward.
