1 lb. Lean Ground Beef
1 Egg
1/3 cup Bread Crumbs
1/2 tsp. Ground Pepper
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
1 Clove Garlic, Minced
1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tbsp. Flour
1 cup Beef Broth
1/2 tsp. Seasoning Salt
1 Onion, thinly sliced
Chopped Green Onion for garnish, optional
Makes 4 patties
- In a large bowl, mix beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic & Worcestershire sauce.
- Form into 4 patties.
- In a frying pan or cast iron skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
- Fry patties until browned.
- Move patties to a platter and cover to keep warm.
- Add sliced onion to frying pan and sprinkle with flour.
- Stir with a fork or metal spatula scraping frying pan until onions are tender.
- Gradually mix in broth.
- Simmer and stir over medium-low heat until gravy is thickened.
- Return patties to frying pan and spoon gravy over patties.
- Turn heat to low.
- Cover and simmer 15 - 20 minutes until patties are cooked through.
Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetable of your choice.
This recipe can be easily doubled. Just double all ingredients.
